Hockey tracker for Apple Watch
See where you fade in the third.
Know why your legs go in the third. Leave your phone in the bag: your Apple Watch keeps the game sheet. Hockeywise finds your shifts, counts your shots and face-offs from your wrist, and reads your game like a coach. Nothing is uploaded.
Requires Apple Watch and iPhone. How it works
Ticks are shots. Tap a shift to follow it.

How it works
Three steps, then the watch takes over.
Calibrate once. After that you never touch the watch during play.
- 1
Calibrate for two minutes
Record a few wrist, snap and slap shots and some face-offs so the watch learns your wrist, not an average one.
- 2
Start a skate and play
One tap on the watch, phone in the bag. Shifts, whistles, shots and falls are found as they happen.
- 3
Read the sheet
After the game the sheet syncs to your phone: the shift strip, shots by type, bench recovery, and where you faded.
Calibration done
24 reps recorded. Now go play one.

What the watch sees
The whole game, from your wrist.
Everything on the sheet comes from wrist motion and heart rate, worked out on the watch and the phone.
- Shifts found automatically, stoppages kept inside the shift
- Shots and face-offs counted by type: wrist, snap, slap, other
- Intensity 1-5 per shift from heart rate and movement
- The fade chart: intensity by third, bench recovery after every shift
- Shots per on-ice minute, time on ice, heart-rate zones, estimated distance and top speed
- Practice mode: shot counting at stick-and-puck
- Share the sheet as an image. No account, no web page.
Shifts
Every shift, found on its own.
Bench, whistle and on ice are told apart by movement and heart rate. A whistle does not end your shift; sixty quiet seconds on the bench do.
- Shift length split into play and whistles
- Bench recovery after every shift
- Nothing to tap, ever
Shift strip, one game
10 shifts, longest 5:09, shortest 1:48
Shots and face-offs
Counted by type, from your reps.
Wrist, snap and slap are told apart by the way your own wrist moves, with face-offs kept separate. Low-confidence motions are left out rather than guessed.

Watch and phone
On your wrist on the ice. On your phone in the car.
The watch records as a workout so it survives a wrist-down game. The sheet syncs to the phone on its own, with a retry queue if the phone is out of range.

Questions
Before you install.
What is Hockeywise?
Hockeywise is a hockey tracker for Apple Watch and iPhone. The watch finds your shifts and, after a two-minute calibration, counts your shots and face-offs by type. The phone shows the game sheet: shift strip, intensity, bench recovery and where you faded. Nothing is uploaded.
When is Hockeywise available?
Hockeywise launches on the App Store in early 2027. Join the waitlist on this page and we email you once, the day it is live.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
Yes. The watch does the recording and the phone shows the sheet. Hockeywise runs on iPhone and Apple Watch only; there is no Android or web version.
Is there a free version?
No. Every game or practice needs Pro, Pro+ Insights or the trial. The trial is 14 days on an annual plan and 7 days on monthly, once per customer, and it is meant to cover at least one real game.
What does calibration involve?
About two minutes of reps before your first game: wrist shots, snap shots, slap shots, face-offs and some ordinary stick handling, so the watch learns your wrist rather than an average one.
Can I wear it in a league game?
Wear it under the glove. It never buzzes or lights up during play and there is nothing to tap. Check your league rules on watches; they vary.
Where does my data go?
Nowhere. Games live on your phone and watch. There is no account and no server, and a build check fails if any networking code is added. You can export any game as CSV.
What happens if I stop paying?
Tracking stops on the watch, every game you already have stays readable, and CSV export keeps working. Your games are never held hostage.
Can a parent buy it for a teenager?
Yes, through Family Sharing, which is on for every plan. Hockeywise is designed for players aged 13 and up, which is where Apple allows heart-rate features on a child’s watch.
Ready for Tuesday at ten?
Start a skate on your watch. Read the sheet in the car.
