Terms of use
The short version: your plan runs through Apple, the numbers are estimates, and none of this is medical advice or a safety feature.
Draft for owner approval. Not in effect yet.
The app
Hockeywise tracks ice hockey games and practices from your Apple Watch and shows them on your iPhone. It needs both. It is published by the developer named on its App Store page.
Apple's Standard End User License Agreement is your license to the app, and it covers warranty, liability and governing law. These terms add the points below. Nothing here takes away a right your local consumer law gives you.
Plans and auto-renewal
- Every game or practice needs Pro, Pro+ Insights or a free trial. There is no free tier.
- Pro and Pro+ Insights are auto-renewing subscriptions, monthly or annual. The paywall shows the price, the period and any free trial before you confirm.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm, or when a free trial ends.
- A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel in your Apple Account settings at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Free trials are 14 days on annual plans and 7 days on monthly, one per Apple ID. Cancel at least 24 hours before a trial ends or it becomes a paid subscription.
- Manage or cancel at any time from Manage subscription in the Settings screen of the app, or in your Apple Account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Apple handles billing and refunds. Ask for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue one.
- Pro+ Insights Lifetime is a one-time purchase that never renews. It is offered only after a subscription lapses.
- Family Sharing is on for every plan. On a child's watch, purchases go through Ask to Buy.
When a plan ends
Game and practice tracking stop on the watch. Your games stay readable on your iPhone and CSV export stays available.
Not medical advice
Hockeywise is a hockey stats app, not a medical device. Heart rate, intensity, recovery figures and coach notes are general information about your game. They are not medical advice, and they do not diagnose, treat or prevent anything. Ask a doctor about your health, and stop and get help if you feel unwell.
The fall count is not a safety feature
The falls on your game sheet are a statistic, counted quietly from the motion of your wrist. They never alert anyone, call anyone or interrupt play. They can miss a real fall and count something that was not one. Do not rely on them for your safety.
Apple Watch Fall Detection is a separate Apple feature that Hockeywise does not control. You set it in the Watch app on your iPhone, under My Watch › Emergency SOS › Fall Detection.
Numbers are estimates
Shifts, shots, face-offs, falls, intensity, distance and top speed are estimates from wrist motion and heart rate. They can be wrong. Do not use them to make decisions about your health or safety.
Age
Hockeywise is for players aged 13 and older, which is where Apple allows heart-rate features on a child's watch. We do not check ages.
Your games
Your games live only on your devices and we hold no copy, so we cannot restore a lost game. Export anything you want to keep.
